Measuring Guide for Blinds
We've compiled a useful guide to help you accurately measure for blinds. If you encounter any issues, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Please Note:
- Please provide all measurements in centimeters
- All of our blinds come with a 0.5cm manufacturing tolerance for both width and drop
- For the most accurate results, always use a metal tape measure when taking your measurements
Recess Size
If you want the blind to fit within the window recess, take measurements for both the width and the drop at three different points. Please provide us with the smallest numbers you obtain for each.
We'll take care of any required adjustments to make sure the blind fits perfectly within your window's recess.
Pro Tip for Blackout Blinds:
Our fabric specialists suggest that for maximum light blockage with blackout blinds, you should install them outside the window recess using the 'exact' blind measurement. This will help to eliminate as much external light as possible.
Pro Tip for Vertical Blinds:
The drop measurement includes the headrail, so the louvres will actually be shorter than the specified drop length.
Exact Size
A blind with specific dimensions is often referred to as either a "pin width" or "finished blind width." To obtain this measurement, you'll need to decide how far you want the blind to extend beyond the window recess on all sides. We suggest an overlap of at least 7.5cm on each side, as well as the top and bottom, to effectively block out external light.
Take measurements for both the width and the drop at three separate points, and give us the smallest numbers you obtain. Rest assured, we won't make any adjustments to the dimensions you provide.
